10 tufties and smew all together on the bottom pool.
4 shovellers
2 shelduck
2 goldeneye
8 teal in the area.
1500ish pinkies still on Trig Hill
Greensandpiper on Wildfowlers
Little egret on the flood

Birding at Aldcliffe

For a map of the whole site please click on the 'Aldcliffe map' tab at the top of the page.

Bear in mind that some of the site names are not necessarily 'real' names and may have been coined by local patch birders, however some (such as Frog Pond and Pony Wood) are historically established.

IMPORTANT:
It is highly advisable that visiting birders keep to all public rights of way.
Aldcliffe Marsh is owned and managed by Morecambe Bay Wildfowlers Association and is strictly private. A public footpath runs along the length of the marsh along Dawson's Bank from the parking area north to Marsh Point.
Only view the Wildfowlers' Pools from the gate overlooking the ponds from the cycle track or from Dawson's Bank. Please do not enter the field.

All the main birding hotspots are viewable from public pathways.
