Lovely spring morning, started at Freeman’s Pool, Smew still present, also Gadwall, Tufted Duck, Goldeneye, Shelduck, Little Grebe, Coot, Little Egret, Lapwing, Wigeon and Teal. Darter Pool Little Grebe 2, Chiffchaff heard coming from inside fenced area of wood, also GS Woodpecker. Wildfowlers’ Pool, Green Sandpiper 1, Redshank. At the railway crossing a Tree Sparrow was a good find. At least 6 Little Egrets on the marsh. Chiffchaff heard at picnic site, 2 Jays on track, Ravens on the pylon, and a Buzzard seen nest building. Comma butterfly.
