Gadwall's well that ends well.

After a weekend without any visits to the patch I managed an hour after work this evening.

All the usual gubbins (coot, snipe, little grebe etc) was at Freeman's Pools though a small increase in wildfowl was evident, the highlight being a fine drake gadwall.

A green sandpiper was flushed by a dog walker doing the rounds at the Wildfowlers' Pools, as were a dozen teal and a female shoveler.

A bit of pishing drew a female blackcap out from a tit flock along the cycle track.

2 more teal, 3 snipe and few redshank were on The Flood.
